Dr Roslyn Corney and her colleague Penny Worlidge, in the Department of Psychology and Counselling (University of Greenwich in London), are conducting research on the experiences of parents who have an adult child (18 or over) with a gambling problem or difficulties or who has had these problems in the past.

This study will involve talking to parents (either mother or father) over the telephone and it is planned that this will take between 20 and 40 minutes.  Parents will be asked to talk about how the gambling problem developed, when did they first become involved, what experiences or dilemmas they have faced, and what do they think would help them, their child or anyone else in a similar position.

The results will be written up in the form of a report (but without names or identifying characteristics) which will be made available for participants if they wish.

If you are a parent with an child over 18 who is gambling too much, and are interested in taking part, you can talk to Dr Corney confidentially at 0208 331 8926 (her direct line) or you can email her on R.H.Corney@gre.ac.uk or write to her at Bronte Hall, Avery Hill Road, London SE9 2UG
